Pre-Con-Conference Boris, Puerto Rico Disaster Relief, Quiz

Desenzando del Garda seen from the Ferry to Sirmione
Boris has been busy again "supporting" Prime Minister May in an interview/article by the Sun on Red Lines not to be crossed during Brexit. Whilst these broadly matched Theresa Mays ambitions given in her Florence speech, the UK media latched onto this and the fact that he also commented on other policies outside of his remit. On the eve of the Conservative Conference, there seems to be heightened anticipation of a potential coup by Boris/Boris attempting to get fired/please enter your favourite theory here - delete as applicable.

Much of Puerto Rico is still without electricity, food and water supplies are still scarce. Ably explained by President Trump, the situation is different to the situation in Texas because Puerto Rico is surrounded by a lot of big water, an ocean in fact. However, as the islanders feel increasingly desperate and the San Juan Mayor called for more help, concern was expressed that more could be done. Reacting by tweets, President Trump advised the residents to ignore the fake news apparently inspired by the Democrats insisting that the US was doing a great job getting help to the islands. He is due to visit on Tuesday and hopefully gain a real impression of the catastrophe.

Spent a day intending to work on the Quekett Bulletin but found most of it spent with still outstanding emails and the Local History Group. Also edited some of the photos from our Italian holiday - concentrating on Desenzano and the interior of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Sirmione.

Finished off the evening by going to the Milton Quiz and finally finishing the book series 'Rivers of London' which I have been binge reading over the past week. Should be able to get to bed a bit earlier in the coming week!
