Mass Killer with Automatic. Fish Friendly Brexit? Bad Font for Word

The Tory conference, the aftermath of the Catalan vote and other news have been pushed to the background by the shooting in Las Vegas last night. 59 people dead and 500 concert goers injured by a gunman with an automatic weapon and a further arsenal of up to 10 rifles in his hotel room. Unbelievable - our thoughts with those affected. Not an ISIS terrorist but an elderly retired American accountant.  Motivation currently unknown, his own family in shock. Whilst statistics on guns and deaths from them can be played in many different ways, permitting ownership of automatic weapons does appear particularly stupid.

Quite astonished at Michael Gove's speech to conference that leaving the EU will improve fish stocks and prevent damage to our environment caused by the EU agricultural policy. Major new policies - introduction of plastic bottle recycling and increase in penalties for animal cruelty.

After Ryanair getting their pilot rotas in a twist and having to cancel thousands of flights over the next weeks, now Monarch has gone into liquidation, leaving 850 thousand holidaymakers awaiting relief flights by the largest organised evacuation by the UK since WWII.

Software issue returned in Word. I finally nailed it down to one particular font. The program worked fine until trying to use a Humanst 777 font for the normal text. Replaced it with a Swiss Sans Serif font and so far everything OK. Also prepared stereopairs of images generated on the microscope last night and uploaded to high quality printer, for collection on Thursday, ready for the Quekett Exhibition at the NHM on Friday.
